Offline reading¶
On a plane, in the mountains, in a basement: your notes come with you.
How it works¶
- Every note you open is saved on your device automatically.
- Keep a whole folder offline: tap ☁︎ on the folder. Every note in it and its subfolders is downloaded, with images and diagrams. Kept folders refresh whenever the app opens online.
- Offline, it just works:
- saved notes open with an "Offline · saved copy from…" line;
- search runs over your saved notes;
- any folder can be browsed, showing what's saved;
- diagrams still show.
- On a weak or stuck connection, the saved copy appears after a few seconds instead of an endless spinner.
See what's on your device¶
The Offline tab lists the folders you keep offline, when they were last refreshed (with Refresh now), and every saved note grouped by folder. In lists, saved notes carry a small cloud mark.
Good to know¶
- Editing waits for a connection; your saved copies are read-only offline.
- Signing out deletes everything saved on that device.
- On iPhone, open the app online before you travel: iOS can clear a site's saved data if it isn't used for a few weeks.
